Ableton Mac Plugins Folder
Nov 17, 2018 Within Ableton, the Ableton Vst Plugins folders (and subfolders) can be arranged and setup via shortcuts copied and pasted into the main vstplugin folder. I’ll show you some clear examples throughout this post. The Spitfire website shows you how to get it working on a Mac but that doesn't work for Ableton on PC. I've downloaded Spitfire and some sounds from their library and put them in my VST folder where I keep my other VSTs but they're not showing in Ableton for me. Any suggestions would be great thanks! Jul 06, 2016 VST and AudioUnits (also AUs and Components) are the two native plugin formats for Mac OS X. There are many VST and AU plugins for expanding your sounds and effects. In Ableton Live, now go to Options Preferences File Folder Plug-In Sources (at the bottom). Make sure 'Use VST Plug-In Custom Folder' is set to On. Make sure that the VST Plug-In Custom Folder is set to the same file path where you installed the Plug Ins. Jan 31, 2012 Installing VST Plugins Ableton - Mac Discussion of music production, audio, equipment and any related topics, either with or without Ableton Live 2 posts. Page 1 of 1. May 25, 2015 I want to Organise my VST / Plugin Folder in Ableton Live 9 on Yosemite. I used to use shortcuts to VSTs in a custom VST folder and use the custom folder in the Ableton Options, which worked great. The I went to 64bit and some of my plugins werent appearing, this ISNT a 32 / 64 thing. I made sure I downloaded all the 64bit versions of my plugins.
Ableton comes with an impressive, diverse and extremely usable set of instruments, effects and samples. However, at some point you will almost certainly want to install 3rd party plug ins to get that sound you need.
Luckily for you, the process of adding 3rd party plug-ins on a Mac is extremely straight forward. It is literally a case of copying the plug in files into the Mac plug in directory. Once this is done Ableton will automatically find your plug-ins ready to use.
Where is the Ableton Plug ins folder?
The truth is there isn’t one specifically for Ableton, it’s a shared plug ins folder in you Mac Library. By default the folders used to contain plug-ins, and where you need to copy them to, are:
(for AU) Library > Audio > Plug ins > Component
(for VST) Library > Audio -> Plug ins > VST
Setting a custom plug in folder
In Ableton there is also the ability to set a custom location for your plug ins folder. This is handy if you have multiple DAWs installed on the same Mac, or if you just want to use a different hard disc, perhaps a solid state to run them from.
In the Ableton top menu go to:
Preferences > File Folder > VST Plug-In Custom Folder
Ableton Plugins Folder
Make sure to enable the feature, and you can now copy plug ins to any location you like.

- To authorize Hybrid, navigate to your DAW of choice and open the program. To open theLoom Authorizer, it needs to be scanned in your Digital Audio Workstation (DAW). Vst Folder Ableton Mac
Mac:
