100 Free Ableton Live Packs! I'm very pleased and excited to share the 100th Free AfroDJMac Ableton Live Pack! It's been quite a journey and I am happy to have you here reading and playing with these toys! For this collection, I return to my roots as a musician, the electric guitar. I was doing a little recording and wanted some fast palm mute. Ableton Live is the only solution designed for each stage of the musical process, from creation to production to performance. In the creative stage, Live is transparent, intuitive and responsive. Some synths have a feature called local control. If local control is disabled, then playing keys or tweaking knobs will not affect the synthesizer directly, but those messages will be sent from its MIDI Out to Live; these will then be sent back from Live to your synth through its MIDI In. Download the latest installer file from the plug-in manufacturer's website and run it. Some plug-ins may also have a standalone version which is separate from the VST version. Don't install the standalone and VST versions to the same folder. Install to the VST folder of your choice.
- Im using a ibanez guitar with a Gk pickup and a roland gi-20 to play reason synths, works pretty well, though you have to tweak everything to get the synths to 'play' well. Live 4 (beta) also works with the guitar synth, though its not the same since the simpler doesnt warp.

AfroDJMac has released a free Ableton Live instrument, made by sampling a 1970’s Univox bass.
The instrument was recorded coming through a guitar amp, a bass amp, and a room mic picking up both amps. You can mix between the two.
Controls on the Device rack allow you to morph the bass into something totally new. Unistal ableton mac.

I’ve had a lot of experience recording this bass, and I’m often torn on how to best record it. Running it through a bass amp is usually my first choice, but I also really like how it sounds coming out of my guitar amp.
So what I did while sampling was run the bass through an SWR bass amp and my Fender Deluxe tube guitar amp. Also, I put up an AKG C414 mic in the room to capture both amps simultaneously. On the Ableton device, you can mix the three signals together to meet your taste.

When designing the Ableton Instrument, I decided to use all open string samples. It almost gives the Martin a harpsichord feel, or open tuning vibe as you play full chords. It was very easy to be inspired by the sound. Right away I found myself working on new jams.
